Hello to all,
I hope that things are well with you. This site is dedicated to all those that still suffer, both in and out of the rooms. My heart goes out to you if you have a loved one who is at the mercy of this disease. To help you understand a little, that’s what it means to me dis- ease. It makes me feel uncomfortable inside my own body. To give you an example, when I was craving another hit it felt like I was chained to the bottom of a pool and I couldn’t breath unless I got that next one. So you could understand that the addict/alcoholic is going to free himself from that condition. Understand that they can be very sick.
My heart also goes out to you if you’re in the rooms and you’re at the mercy of this disease. Just because you get sober it doesn’t mean that you are going to live a great life. You can get everything you want in life and still suffer. If you make the wrong choices your life can still not be what you would hope that it would be, that happened to me.
In my opinion, and it’s just my opinion, service is the only way to free yourself of this disease. Some people will tell you that sponsoring others will do it, some will say go to more meetings, some will say work the steps, more prayer, meditate, etc. While all of those things are great, for me they didn’t make a significant enough impact, except in a consciousness of service.
Once that mentality has been taken, once that position has been accepted, the gates of hell start to open and let you out. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you should go out and try and save everyone else, because you might loose yourself. Keeping balance is extremely important, however don’t use that as an excuse, because it’s really you that you are being of service to.
I hope that my short talk has helped you. If you feel the need to speak further, please contact me on my contact page.
